Matthew 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. We live in a time when many people have fallen dead all of a sudden because of Covid-19. The graveyards and the cremation grounds are full. While some are scared to carry their dead for cremation, others are volunteering to help bury the victims. Some gather to deny victims a funeral and officials intervene to perform the last-rites rituals as we call it traditionally. The ones performing the rituals seem to have taken over roles officiated by traditional authoritarian authorities. The customary rituals may miss their supposed traditional values. So, how does Matthew 8:22, fit into the current world affairs? The verse before this: Matthew 8:21 And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
